Gold Award Celebrations!

Gold Award Celebrations

In March 2024 Le Rondin School was awarded the Gold Rights Respecting Schools award after Sarah Hodgkinson, the regional Unicef representative, visited our school to complete an assessment.

During her visit, Sarah had meetings with school staff, pupils and the pupil Rights Champions who talked about the importance of children’s rights, the various activities and events undertaken by the school community on our Gold Award journey and the positive impact that has been made through embedding children’s rights into school life.

Sarah also had the opportunity to look around Le Rondin and enjoyed seeing displays related to children’s rights and all the different class charters created by the children.

We are very proud and happy to be a Gold Rights Respecting School. Unicef said that achieving Gold ‘means you have fully embedded children's rights throughout your school's policy, practice and ethos.'

We celebrated our achievement by having a "Gold Day" on 26th April. Pupils and staff were encouraged to dress their very best and were welcomed by a golden archway. Parents were invited to celebrate with us in the afternoon. Our rights champions held an assembly and then everyone went back to their classes for juice and biscuits. Children shared their rights learning with their parents. A fun day was had by all!
