Learning about our rights through the curriculum.

The children also learn about their rights in their lessons and specific topics are linked to children’s rights to enhance knowledge of rights.

For example, when learning about the lives of children in the Victorian era, children can understand that they did not have all of their rights respected including Article 32, I have the right not to do dangerous work and Article 19, I have the right to be protected from harm.

Similarly when learning about different religious festivals in RE, the children also learn about Article 14, I have the right to have my own thoughts and beliefs and to choose my religion.

Children also attend specific assemblies to discuss rights and they are encouraged to map these across their daily lives.
