It is important for the children to be aware of how local and global issues are linked to rights and that in addition to being individuals growing up in an island community, they also have a role as global citizens in the wider world community.
The children learn about global issues in a variety of ways. For example, the topic of water in geography is linked to Article 24, I have the right to clean water and that there are places where children do not have easy access to clean water.
We have taken part in many different events throughout the year to support our local & global community such as:
