Year 6 hosted a coffee afternoon in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support on Friday 29th September. Children couldn’t fully expresso their excitement at playing host to their parents and invited guests. And what a wonderful job they did!
They ferried teas, coffees and cakes to their thirsty customers. Behind the kitchen counter, Chris and Natasha were very busy supplying the waiters with their orders.
Parents and guests were also serenaded by Danik who sang beautifully; parents were hoping to hear the lyric ‘Excuse me while I kiss the chai’ but Jimmy Hendriks was, alas, not on the menu this year.
All in all, the event was a great success and Y6 were justly proud of serving the local community and such a worthy charity. We raised a fabulous £309.10 that has been split between Macmillan and Les Bourgs Hospice.
P.S. Lou turned up a little late to the venue but better latte than never!
